Stairways and Access

All walkways and steelwork are designed and installed to comply with building control regulations and to relevant codes of practice.

Installations are designed and erected at all times bearing in mind quality and service.

Shows typical clip on exterior metal column cover, lined on the inside with Superlux 17mm thick or similar material to give one hour fire protection to comply with regulations. Exterior of cover can be galvanised finish or in colour plastic coated steel sheet in various colours.

Installations are tailor-made to the customer's requirements, using only qualified structural design practice.

Materials used are determined by design criteria:

• Columns are in 80 x 80mm or 100 x 100mm rolled hollow sections or universal beam or column section of 300 x 300 x 12mm welded base plates and 300 x 100 x 12mm cap plates having a 4, 6 or 8 zinc plated bolt connection.
• Base plates fastened to concrete floor slabs with 4 off Hilti HSA through bolts 110 x 12mm.
• Main beams UB sections with support column spans to any span or customer's requirements.
• Floor channels on 400 or 600mm centres in galvanised "C" os Swage type channels in various thicknesses.
• Floor finishes in heavy duty particle board tongue and groove 2440 x 600mm panels in 22, 25, 30 or 38mm thick depending on load requirements. Other floors available in flat steel plate, chequer plate, aluminium or open grid floor panels.
• Stair treads in steel chequer, open grid, flat plate or timber.
• Handrails to landings and walkways or platforms, 1100mm high double rail, 38mm ERW round tube with 50 x 50mm SHS uprights on approx. 1500mm centres. Handrails to staircase 900mm above pitch line and double rail as above.

Ajax standard type lift over pallet loading grate, spring loaded and counterbalanced for easy one man operation with saftey in mind and complies with Health and Safety requirements.

Shows underside of typical mezzanine platform and bulkhead covered in Armstrong fissured pattered tiles 1200 x 600mm in a metal lay in ceiling grid fixed to underside of main beams all to give one hour fire protection and comply with building control and fire regulations.

Wrexham, North Wales Vertical access ladder 8 metres high complete with safety cage and high level safety balustrading around perimeter of building roof. All complying with safety regulations.

Coventry area Decorative staircase and handrails with closed steel treads for office use. Treads to be covered in heavy duty vinyl covering.

Domestic type stairs, access to first floor flat.

Pochins Limited, Wrexham, North Wales Double rise staircase suported on fabricated steel support towers to landings on prepared concrete bases. Steel treads 1000mm wide by 265mm going and 40mm fold front and back of tread for strength and safety standard ball uprights and tube handrails. Galvanised finish.
